Red Sauce

Ingredients
- 30 oz. of Fired Roasted Diced Tomatoes, or two 15 oz. cans 
- 6 oz. of Tomato Paste 
- 12 oz. of Water 
- ½ Tsp. Salt 
- 1 package of Plant-Based Ground Beef (optional) 
- 1 medium Carrot, peeled 
- 1 Yellow Onion, sliced 
- 2 Tsp. Dried Basil 
- 1 Tsp. Dried Parsley 
- 1 Tsp. Dried Oregano 
- 2 Tbsp. Plant-Based Butter 
- 1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar 
- 1 Tbsp. Granulated Sugar 
Instructions
- In a pot, add in some olive oil and saute the onions on a medium-high heat. Continue to cook the onions until translucent. 
- Next, toss in the herbs, salt, and plant-based meat. Stir around and cook for 2-3 minutes. 
- Add in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, water, and carrot. Stir all together. 
- Turn heat down to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes. 
- Remove the cover, and lower heat to low. Add in the butter, and both sugars. Stir until the butter has melted, and let simmer for 5-10 minutes. 
- Last, remove the carrot, and serve the sauce over your pasta of choice. Enjoy!
