Pasta + Chicken = One delicious dish!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20-25 minutes
Total Time: 30-35 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 package Dried Pasta of your choice
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
- About 4 or 5 Fresh Sage Leaves
- Salt (for seasoning and pasta water)
- Corse Black Pepper for seasoning
- Garlic Powder for seasoning
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (shredded)
- 2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
- 2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Instructions
First, generously season the chicken on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Next, heat a medium non-stick (oven safe) pan on high heat. Once the pan is heated, turn the heat down to medium high heat and add the extra virgin olive oil. Add in the chicken breasts - be sure that there is space in your pan. A crowded pan will prevent the chicken from cooking evenly.
Let the chicken cook for 4 minutes on one side. Then, flip the chicken and cook for an additional 4 minutes on the second side. DO NOT move or press down the chicken until it is time to flip. Moving and pressing it may dry out the chicken.
After the chicken has cooked on the second size, place the entire pan into the oven and let the chicken bake for an additional 12-15 minutes (depending on the thickness of the chicken). Once the time is done, remove it from the oven and check that the internal temperature of the chicken is 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Set aside to rest.
While the chicken is resting, bring a medium pot of water to boil. Add salt to the water, then cook the pasta according to it's package directions. When the pasta is done, reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water on the side. Drain the pasta.
Next, Melt 1/2 a cup of butter on low heat in the same pot you used to boil the pasta. Once the butter is melted, add in the sage leaves. Allow the butter and sage to cook for about 3-5 minutes on simmer. Once the butter becomes fragrant with sage, add in the cooked pasta and parmesan cheese. Coat the pasta with the butter sauce.
When the cheese and butter have coated the pasta, add in your pasta water. Give it once last mix and serve immediately with the chicken. Enjoy!
